 Florida Summer Camps for Kids with Special Needs 

Camp Able (Manatee County)

Christian camp for children with special needs ages 12-21 operated by the Diocese of SW Florida and St. Mark's Episcopal Church at Dayspring Episcopal Conference Center in Ellenton.

Camp Boggy Creek (Lake County)

Camp Boggy Creek is a permanent, year-round facility where children between the ages of 7-16 with chronic or life-threatening illnesses can come at no charge to them or their families.  Camp Boggy Creek provides a safe and exciting camp experience for children with: Asthma, Cancer and blood-related disorders, Craniofacial disorders, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Heart disease, Hemophilia, Immunology, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Kidney disease, Rheumatic disease, Sickle cell anemia, Spina Bifida, Transplants, Disorders requiring ventilator assistance.

 Camp Olympus (Volusia County)

Youth with special needs can enjoy 10 fun-filled weeks of supervised playground activities, sports, crafts, and more. The program serves youth in grades K-5. Camp Olympus is offered at Edgewater Public School, Edgewater. West Volusia Special Needs camp is available at Volusia Pines Elementary, Lake Helen. To qualify, a child must be multi-VE and have medical clearance. The child must be able to work within a one to five teacher ratio. Space is limited. Participants are encouraged to sign up early. Program cost is $50 per week per child plus a $20 registration fee, trips included. Need-based scholarships for summer programs are available.  DOSA Camps  (Flagler County)

DOSA Camps, a Division of the Ministry for Persons with Disabilities of the Diocese of St. Augustine sponsors Camp I Am Special, Camp Promise, and Camp Care which are five-day recreational and residential summer camps for children, teenagers, and young adults with disabilities. Registration fee is $250.

Dream Oaks Camp (Sarasota County)

The Mission of the Foundation for Dreams, Inc. and Dream Oaks Camp is to provide fun, educational, and recreational experiences in an outdoor camp environment to enhance the lives of children ages 7-17 with physical and developmental disabilities and serious illnesses. Fees range from $200 to $650 depending on length of stay.  Financial assistance may be available and is based upon family size and level of income.

Easter Seals Camp Challenge (Lake County)

A residential camp for children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities which serves the entire state of Florida. Camp Challenge also offers a once a month respite camp throughout the year. Approximately $1,300 for 6 day program, although financial assistance is available.

 Epilepsy Foundation of Northeast Florida

(Serves Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, St. Johns, and Volusia counties)

The Epilepsy Foundation of Northeast Florida provides many programs and services including the following: referral to other resources by staff familiar with the challenges of living with epilepsy; holiday parties and other recreational activities; parent network; resource and lending library; summer camp for children with epilepsy; support groups.  Fees: Sliding scale; camp fees based on ability to pay and/or available funding.

 Florida Lions Camp (Polk County)

Private, nonprofit camp established and dedicated to serving the needs of youth and adults with visual impairments and other challenging disabilities.  All individuals, five years of age or older, are eligible to attend.  A variety of traditional summer camp activities abound; swimming, canoeing, fishing, hiking, camping out and cooking over a fire , games, arts & crafts, singing & dancing, hay-wagon rides, challenge course and much more. Activities are adapted to the age and ability of each camper to ensure maximum participation, safety and fun.  Fee is $500, however amount is reduced if parent is willing to be involved in fundraising efforts.
